TRAINING

– REFRESHER

This course of is for everyone that is currently certified.  This one day (minimum of 8 hours) of mountain bike riding consisting reviewing listed topics below.  The course is designed refresh the techniques already learned and start to prepare the student for the upcoming season.    

 

  • Stretching.
  • Training rides.
  • Technical skills
  • Gears and cadence.
  • Emergency braking.
  • Cardiovascular fitness.
  • Slow speed balance drills.
  • Hypothermia and dehydration.
  • Accident prevention & common injuries.

We are including a round table discussion session to network, bring new ideas, and talk about in-service training issues.

Requirements:  Applicants must be currently certified and be able to provide proof.  All students will be “on duty” while attending the training and the course registration form will be completed by an authorized department supervisor prior to the student being able to participate. 

Testing Procedure:  None.

Certification:  Participants who complete the day’s activities will be issued a certificate of completion from Trident.
