TRAINING

– MAINTENANCE

This course of instruction is for all Police / Peace, Security, and EMS personnel consisting of 4 consecutive days (minimum of 32 hours) of advanced mountain bike repair.  This course is for departments to provide their own in-house maintenance for their fleet.   

Park Tool has been manufacturing tools specifically for bicycle since 1963.  The Park Tool School is a hands-on environment for learning bicycle maintenance and repair.  The Park Tool Company designed this unique program with a textbook curriculum for students to learn bicycle repair. 

Requirements:  Applicants must be currently assigned to bike patrol with three of experience.  All students will be “on duty” while attending the training and the course registration form will be completed by an authorized department supervisor prior to the student being able to participate. 

Testing Procedure:  Students must be able to successfully demonstrate all of techniques to the satisfaction of the Instructor(s), and pass the written examination by a score of 80%.

Certification:  Students who meet the qualification standards will be issued a certificate of completion from Trident until the Park Tools certificates are issued. 

Registration Fee:  $375.00 (maximum of 5 students per course)
